Work Skills

Your Next Career Move

Do you need new skills to improve your career or business opportunities? Are you ready to take the next step for your dream career? WEA Illawarra provides you with nationally recognised vocational training as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 90297) accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). This means that once you’ve successfully completed your training or qualification with us, your achievement will be recognised across Australia.

We offer you a range of accredited study options in our Vocational Courses. You can complete a whole qualification, skill sets (a combination of study units from a qualification) or individual study units of competency. If you complete one or more units of competency, we’ll issue you with a Statement of Attainment. When you complete a full qualification, we’ll issue you with a full Certificate.

We offer a variety of flexible learning options available to fit around your active and busy life, including face-to-face, online and other combined modes of flexible learning.

Flexible Learning, Your Choice

Here’s your choice to study what you want to, at your own pace. With Your Choice you get to study one of our Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses in a flexible way that meets your individual needs.

Recognition of Prior Learning

If you can demonstrate that you have the skills and knowledge equivalent to part of, or a full qualification you can get Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) with us. Getting RPL involves producing supporting documents and doing an assessment process with our friendly staff.

The process of RPL requires you to compile and submit a portfolio of evidence which is then assessed by a qualified assessor. Assessment typically takes two weeks. Successful applicants will be issued with the same qualification as those who study the course. Any units of competency that you cannot supply evidence for can be studied individually prices are available on application.

Contact us to discuss your suitability or to find out how your prior learning and experience can help your future learning and training journey.
