This course covers every type of close-up shot, from wide-angle to extreme macro, and equipment ranging from macro and reversed lenses to bellows and image stacking. It also covers image stacking techniques and equipment for extreme macro.
Nic van Oudtshoorn is a highly qualified tutor and photojournalist with more than 40 years of experience in all aspects of photography.
His skills have earned him the distinction of Associate of the prestigious Royal Photographic Society. His photographs have appeared worldwide in numerous books, newspapers, and magazines, including Reader’s Digest and Time.
As an accomplished documentary filmmaker, Nic’s video footage has been shown on TV internationally, including National Geographic and Discovery channels.'

Materials Required

BRING THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS TO CLASS WITH YOU
Digital camera (not phone or similar device) - preferably Digital SLR and any lenses students own;
Optional: electronic flash, diopter lenses (close-up filters) and other accessories, tripod.
PRE-REQUISITE
Students must have completed either a Practical Photography course or Digital Workshop course or have equivalent knowledge. NO point and shoot cameras

Campus Information

Parking

There is plenty of parking onsite but please DO NOT TURN RIGHT into the carpark. You could endanger yourself, any passengers and any others on the road.

The centre should be approached from the South, either at the south end of Auburn Street, or by turning into Auburn Street from Swan or West Streets.

There is a Zip Tap available for those who wish to BYO cup plus tea/coffee/milk supplies.

Confirmation of Course and Purchase of Materials

At times WEA must cancel classes due to lack of enrolments. To avoid undue costs please do not purchase any materials until your course has been confirmed as going ahead.

Please call the WEA office on phone: (02) 4226 1622 three days prior to the commencement of the class to confirm that it will be going ahead.

Please note that WEA is a smoke-free business and smoking is not allowed in the building in the carparks or in any outside area on WEA property.
