NOTE: Enrolments in this course can be taken ALL YEAR ROUND.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have supervisory performance accountabilities.

Individuals in these roles carry out a mix of specialist and moderately complex administrative or operational tasks that require self-development skills. They use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

PACKAGING RULES

Total number of units = 12
• 6 Core Units plus
• 2 Elective units must be selected from Group A
• for the remaining 4 elective units:
o up to 4 units may be selected from Groups A – J
o if not listed, up to 2 units may be selected from a Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

SPECIALISATIONS

This qualification can provide for specialisations. To achieve a specialisation, the following additional packaging rules must be adhered to:
• For specialisation in Leadership, 4 elective units must be selected from Group B
• For specialisation in Business Administration, 4 elective units must be selected from Group C
• For specialisation in Business Operations, 4 elective units must be selected from Group D
• For specialisation in Cyber Security, 4 elective units must be selected from Group G
• For specialisation in Financial Administration, 4 elective units must be selected from Group H

The achievement of a specialisation will be identified on a testamur as follows:
• BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Leadership)
• BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Administration)
• BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Operations)
• BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Cyber Security)
• BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Finance)

WEA Illawarra can be prevented from issuing you with a nationally recognised VET qualification or statement of attainment when you complete your course if you do not have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you have not yet obtained a USI you can apply for it directly at https://www.usi.gov.au/students/create-usi

NOTE: Certificates will not be issued until satisfactory completion of all assessment requirements and all payments for the course have been received.

Campus Information

Parking

There is plenty of parking onsite but please DO NOT TURN RIGHT into the carpark. You could endanger yourself, any passengers and any others on the road.

The centre should be approached from the South, either at the south end of Auburn Street, or by turning into Auburn Street from Swan or West Streets.

Food and Drink

There is a Zip Tap available for those who wish to BYO cup plus tea/coffee/milk supplies.

Confirmation of Course and Purchase of Materials

At times WEA must cancel classes due to lack of enrolments. To avoid undue costs please do not purchase any materials until your course has been confirmed as going ahead.

Please call the WEA office on phone: (02) 4226 1622 three days prior to the commencement of the class to confirm that it will be going ahead.

No Smoking

Please note that WEA is a smoke-free business and smoking is not allowed in the building in the carparks or in any outside area on WEA property.

COVID and your Safety

If you are feeling unwell or displaying covid or cold and flu symptoms, please stay at home and notify our office that you will not be attending classes.

Our staff may ask you to leave if you appear to be unwell so that we protect our students and staff. We will operate according to Public Health Orders as required.
