Disability / Accessibility

We understand that access to learning and training for people with a disability, or other special need, often requires the removal of obstacles in your way. If you relate to this, WEA Illawarra will endeavour to assist you where feasible and where resources permit.

If you have any physical impediment affecting your mobility, including the ability to walk upstairs, please advise us of this when you are enrolling. Parts of our Wollongong, Auburn Street Centre and the Balarang Centre have wheelchair access and other facilities for disabilities. For details of these and other campuses’ facilities or simply to discuss your situation, please Contact us.

Fee Assistance

Sometimes the biggest barrier to learning new skills or gaining a qualification is the lack of money to simply study. With WEA Illawarra you can improve your opportunities through subsidised courses and training. We offer three funding opportunities for you as an adult learners:

  1. Smart and Skilled
  2. University Of Wollongong (UOW) Pathways
  3. Tech Savvy Seniors.
