How long does it take?
A new section of each course starts monthly. If enrolling in a series of two or more courses, please be sure to space the start date for each course at least two months apart.
All courses run for six weeks, with a two-week grace period at the end. Two lessons are released each week for the six-week duration of the course. You do not have to be present when lessons are released. You will have access to all lessons until the course ends. However, the interactive discussion area that accompanies each lesson will automatically close two weeks after the lesson is released. As such, we strongly recommend that you complete each lesson within two weeks of its release.
The final exam will be released on the same day as the last lesson. Once the final exam has been released, you will have two weeks to complete all of your course work, including the final exam.
What do I need to study online?
In order to study online, you will need a computer which you are comfortable using and access to the Internet. You can access the program from any web-enabled computer and don’t need to use the same computer each time. In addition you will need email, and the Adobe Flash and PDF plug-ins (two free and simple downloads you can obtain at http://www.adobe.com/downloads by clicking Get Adobe Flash Player and Get Adobe Reader).
Most importantly you need to be interested in the subject being taught – you could be pleasantly surprised at how much you can learn online!
The first step to getting started on your ED2GO online course is to enrol. Enrolment is completed onlineusing the enrolment form. The WEA admin will then follow up your enrolment and email you a password and access code.
Note: We run our courses by making available to you the notes and assignments relating to your current module only. When your module assignments have been completed and returned, material for the following module will become immediately available. This allows you to work at your own pace - and you can even revisit notes issued in earlier modules at any time.
